Chix Restaurant

It was late for dinner. We ordered fried chicken. Not a unreasonable long wait. Nice background music. Good food. We will go back again.

Absolutely disgusted by what I saw! Me and my daughter had dined in. Upon leaving I ordered a burger to go. I stood in the back waiting for it to be prepared and watched them touch everything with no gloves on! No hair nets! No hand washing, no food hygiene at all!! I watched a girl run her fingers through her hair, then put her customer's food on the plate with the same fingers! I watched another playing on her phone, then put a customer chicken on the plate with her bare, unwashed hands! My stomach flipped, considering we had just eaten the food! Never again!

Im not sure if they were having problems with their heat but the restaurant was extremely cold. So cold we had coats on still and we're uncomfortable. The waitress was extremely slow. It was between 5 to 10 minutes before she even asked what we wanted to drink. 3 of the drinks were in Styrofoam cups because she said they ran out of clean cups. The appetizers were ok. We had a party of 5 and everyone's food was cold and one of our plates had several lengthy pieces of hair on it. We mentioned it to our waitress and her response was as if it wasn't even a big deal. She said she would remove it from our bill and didnt seem apologetic or made 0 effort to help improve the situation. The atmosphere was terrible due to the uncomfortable cold temps. The food was terrible from all dishes being cold and hair on one of the dishes. The service was extremely slow with little to no effort. I understand sometimes things happen but we are considering not returning due to the waitress not even caring or making a effort to help us.

Upsetting. Came in and waited a good 10 minutes before our drink orders were taken. When we received our food, it was cold.. even the soups. Worst part of all is I found hair wrapped up in my food. When we tried to speak to the waitress, we had to call her over. She didn’t check in on us once, as a customer I felt neglected. I’ve had better service experience at McDonald’s. A waste of time and money. Very disappointing.

Chix is the place for great chicken. Oh and the ribs are delicious. I use them monthly I would say, and no matter what I order, I'm impressed with the quality of the food. From my experiences, the cooks are very good! In Streator, Chix is my go to for dinner.
