My son and went in at lunch time and it was pretty busy. We both had the tomato soup, and I had a grilled ham and cheese, and my son had a fried chicken sandwich with Swiss cheese. The food was decent and cooked well. Both of our sandwiches were crispy and not soggy. We both felt the tomato soup was very fresh tasting, but pasta sauce adjencent. I thought the dinner menu looked interesting, with some dishes you don't normaly see in a small town. The service was meh. Neither of us got refills, and we were pretty much ignored by our server. But it was busy, and it looked like they only had two servers for the busy lunch time. The atmosphere was cozy, and even though it busy, it wasn't to loud. In all, a very solid and slightly upscale place to grab a bite to eat.

We had a really nice late (2:00) lunch here the other day. A tamale special and a Thai curry stir fry. Both were excellent. Nice beer list, limited wine list but enough choices. Service (Miranda) was quick, accurate, and super friendly. 2 mains, 1 beer, 1 wine $42+ tip. Definitely worth it. Hopefully we'll be back soon.

Another one of my straightforward, honest reviews! I was in the little town of Princeton, IL this weekend for an event Sunday-Monday, and though nothing jumped out at me as far as a "must try" place to eat, after doing some research, I decided to try Spoons and Forks. If you are in west-central Illinois, it's definitely worth the trip! I ordered a bowl of their chili, as well as their vegetable curry with chicken added. I could have had a meal just with the bowl of chili, which, while it had a unique flavor, was truly outstanding! I love to try different chilis...well over 300 of them around the USA, and this one is in my top 5! The vegetables in the chili were not "mush" and still had nice texture to them. The bowl was huge! Perfect amount of heat, meat, and flavor. The same could be said for the curry bowl. Huge! Peapods, peppers, onions, and vegetables that had great texture, and the perfect amount of heat. Shredded chicken and the jalapenos on top were a perfect balance. Price was more than reasonable; service was excellent. I will return here if I ever come to this town again!

Was in town for a visitation and wanted to try something new. Outside double doors were difficult to open with a wheelchair. Hallway going back to restrooms had extra chairs there and wheelchair couldn't get through without moving them. Had to wait several minutes to be seated. Very friendly staff. Checked back often to make sure we were good. My husband was craving chili and a cheeseburger. He said it was delicious. Enjoyed the fries. Crunchy and well seasoned.

We went for a late lunch today and had a great time. The service was very friendly and attentive, the food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was great as well. We didn't live in Princeton when the old Spoons was open, so we never ate there before, but we had such a great time today that we'll definitely be back.
